Hello Beta user!! Welcome to weekly survey #1. Please take a quick moment to answer the following questions and I'll use them to figure out how to improve the site.
Description:
Whimsical little ceramic creature (jar, pot, decoration, paperweight?) with a wild curly tail, big mouth, two legs and a pair of wings. Glossy blue-green made by double-dipping in Lucero White glaze, then wax spots and edging on the wings added before a final coat of Fake Celadon. This is a medium-sized Curly and the first to fly! His feet are tipped just so - he looks like he's walking, and can either stand with his tail along the ground, or with body on the ground and tail angled up.
The second and third photo are of the curly glazed, but not yet glaze-fired. You can see the detail of the waxed feet and belly (so it won't stick to the kiln during firing.)
Hand-thrown and altered stoneware, fired to cone six glaze. As with all of my pieces, many hours of work throwing, pulling, modifying, and glazing mean each Creature is an individual. All are very organic-looking, humorous and beautiful! Individually dated, stamped, and signed.
This little guy will be content resting on a windowsill in the sun, holding down your papers, showing off on a shelf or in your garden. Food safe, should you choose to use it for such. With their long tails, these guys are fragile, so exercise care when handling your Curly Creature!
Dimensions: 7.5" long, 2.5" wide, just about 2.5" tall.
Convo me if you'd like a cork added in to use him as a small jar or covered container.
All Curly Creatures come double-boxed for safety. If you have special shipping needs, let me know and I'll certainly accommodate.
